Rīga Zoo (Rīgas Zooloģiskais dārzs)

Rīga Zoo holds the status of a national zoo. As of 2022, thirty years had passed since the status was granted.

As of 2022 the zoo held 398 species and 3,356 animals. The total does not include invertebrates that live in colonies, such as leafcutter ants, cockroaches, grasshoppers, locusts, stick insects and others.

Of these, more than a quarter of the species, or almost 38 per cent, breed at the zoo.
