Graffiti on the concrete fence of the Riga promenade along the Daugava
The long line of concrete fencing along the Riga promenade by the Daugava plainly does nothing for the surroundings. About eight years before 2021 - that is, around 2013 or earlier - children painted this fence, and the drawings still delight the people walking past.
Some of the characters in the drawings you come to as if to acquaintances: to say hello and see how they are getting on.
There are photographs of the painted cats from 2016 and from 2021. Time has not spared them, but they still delight and raise a smile - and their utterly alive gaze is still surprising.
