Puikule manor (Puikules muiža)
Puikule manor is in Puikule, in Vidzeme. The manor complex began to take shape at the start of the 19th century, and a wooden manor house was built here first.
At the end of the 19th century a red-brick building in the Tudor neo-Gothic style was put up in its place. About 9 million bricks went into the work, and the bricks used were local, from the neighbouring village of Pociems.
Today the main manor building houses a pre-school and the Puikule community centre. Outside covid times it is possible to get inside on a guided tour, but at the time of the post, in April 2021, everything was closed.
The park, on the other hand, can be walked in; it was created back in the 18th century. There are swings, and a piano stands in the park.
