Valmiera: Dzirnavu ezeriņš, the Ģīmes nature trail and neonija.lv

<p>Three places in Valmiera: a promenade beside a small lake, a nature trail, and an art space lit in neon.</p><p><strong>Dzirnavu ezeriņa promenāde</strong> is a walkway along a lake with a fountain set in it. The surroundings make a calm and beautiful place to rest and walk. For children there is a good playground right next to it.</p><p><strong>Ģīmes dabas taka</strong> is a trail 440 metres long. It begins at the sluices on the river Ģīme on Leona Paegles iela, above which a viewing platform has been built. Along the trail are information boards on local water life, birds, plants, the life of ants and the structure of a bog, as well as on the geology of Valmiera. The trail is informative and easy to walk with children.</p><p><strong>neonija.lv</strong> is an art space telling of a wonderful world ruled by harmony and love. It has waterfalls, a dripping painting, its own garden of fantasies, a tree of dreams, an underwater world, a cave and rainbow gates - all in shimmering neon lights, to the accompaniment of the sounds of nature. The creators' aim was to make a place that would take people away from the bustle of everyday life.</p><h3>Where it is</h3><p>Valmiera. The Ģīmes nature trail starts at the sluices on the river Ģīme on Leona Paegles iela; the promenade runs along Dzirnavu ezeriņš.</p>
