Ratnieku nature trail and cave (Ratnieku dabas taka un ala)

The Ratnieku nature trail runs through forest, with climbs and descents, alongside a small stream. It is about 1.5 km long.

There are games and riddles along the way, and places to rest and picnic. The trail is quiet, scenic and not demanding.

Its centrepiece is Ratnieku ala, the cave. The entrance is narrow and rather low, and the only way in is to crawl. Inside there is one "room" where it is possible to straighten up a little, though not to full height. The cave is about 14 metres long.

The grounds of the Ratnieki holiday complex, where the trail begins, are also worth a walk: there are several historic buildings and a fine manor house.
