A publisher's apartment house on Brīvības iela

<p>The publisher's apartment house on Brīvības iela was built in 1909; the architect was E. Laube.</p>
<p>It is a good example of how a stairwell can be made light and clean while preserving and restoring as much of the original decoration as possible. The wooden elements have been preserved and restored: doors, windows, the panelling on the walls by the entrance. Stained glass. Wrought-iron banisters. The old lift and the lift cage are in full order.</p>
<p>Very valuable remains of the original wall painting beside the entrance door have been carefully uncovered for viewing.</p>
